Since it was almost 100 degrees outside, we decided it would be a good day to get the hippo pool out and let the kids enjoy the day the only way they could. The adults enjoyed some beverages and we put a standing rib roast on the big green egg. It was a great way to spend a brutally hot afternoon. The only thing that was missing was Nana! We hated that she could not be there to enjoy and had to endure the confines of a dark hospital room. We did try to keep her involved by sending her pictures every few minutes.
Getting used to the pool again. |
Jack was the first to just get right in. |
Kate took no time to get to splashing. |
Addi kept getting in and out, in and out. |
Paw Paw and his grandson. |
This is where they wanted to eat their snack. They each had a whole cheese stick and some goldfish. If you look close you can see Jack using sign language to tell us he wants more! |
Note all the grass and dirt on Addi. |
Jack and his new cup. |
Once they got the cups in to pool, all they wanted to do was fill them up and dump them out. |
Every now and then, they would take a big swig. Am I wrong for not stopping them? |
Addi went with the shake method. |
Just love the look on his face. |
It was a race to see who could get to her first. |
Finally, they dumped it on their heads! |
