Up to no good!

Just a few random pictures my mom took this morning. We are getting ready to spend Thanksgiving in beautiful Senoia Ga with her parents. Everyone will be up there this year. We are looking forward to it so much. The Trioux will actually be able to enjoy their first Thanksgiving feast! We leave in a little while and there is SO much to do before we do.
Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving and please remember to share what you have with someone who doesn't. Please be safe and enjoy the holidays. I will try and get an update in with our adventure. Enjoy!!!
Kate just looks like she is up to something!

Overdue update (just random thoughts)...

The last time I made an entry, I said I was going to post the color photos in a few days, and regrettably, I have not had time to do this yet. Things have been really hectic around here the last few weeks, for obvious reasons, and for other reasons that I really can’t get into right now. Some of you that read this blog regularly know what I am referring to so I will fill in the rest of you at another time. Let’s just say that there are going to be some changes coming in our near future. NO WE ARE NOT PREGNANT!!! Just thought I would get that out of the way.

The kids are doing so well right now. They are learning so much and starting to do so much on their own. It is so much fun to watch them learn new things and try new things out. I am amazed everyday at how big they are getting and how independent they are getting as well. All three are finally walking!!! Kate was the first to start taking steps on her own just after their first birthday. Addi was next a few weeks earlier. Brother, not so much! He didn’t even start crawling on his hands and knees until the week of their birthday! Up until that point, he was army crawling everywhere. Jack finally started walking about two weeks ago. Needless to say things are so much different now! It is so much fun to be a part of, but at the same time, it is the most exhausting thing in the world!

Everyone is now eating the same foods we are. It is so much fun watching them experience new foods. The three of them do have different tastes and tendencies when it comes to food. Jack is what we call our carbivore. All he wants is CARBS!!! His favorites include pancakes, grilled cheese, crackers, cookies, mashed potatoes and anything else that is a carbs. He will turn his nose up at meats sometimes so we have to hide them in his carbs. He likes to feed himself, but doesn’t mind being fed with a spoon. Kate on the other hand, DOES NOT like to be fed by a spoon! She wants to feed herself and not use any help. Every now and then you can distract her with something in her hand and get her to eat from the spoon, but you have to be very careful. She is probably the most balanced when it comes to what she likes. She likes it all, but eats less than the other two, even though she is the tallest. Addi is a whole other story! She is the smallest, both in size and weight, but she out eats the other two hands down. She is not big on carbs, but LOVES her meat!! She would rather eat a chicken nugget than grilled cheese any time.

Two weeks ago, we had to go up to Birmingham to take care of some business. We used the opportunity to as a little getaway for just the two of us. We shipped the Trioux off to Crystal’s parent’s house in Georgia, and got up real early Friday morning to make the trip up there. I forgot how beautiful it was up there during the fall. Before we got married, Crystal went to law school up there and I finished my undergrad up there too. We loved it up there and forgot how pretty it really is. We had to go to a little town just north of the city called Oneonta. We spent most of the day there before heading back to Birmingham, Homewood to be exact. We treated ourselves to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse for dinner since we were staying at the hotel it was in and had a great date night. The next day, we went and had coffee at our favorite local coffee joint and just enjoyed the morning.

While we were up there we were able to finally meet up with one of our fellow bloggers/triplet families, the Lees (Three Lees in a Pod plus the little Sprout, Bald Guy in Plaid Pants). We went to their house just before lunch and got to meet three of the cutest and sweetest kids I have ever met. They are simply adorable and so very well behaved. It was so amazing how much our kids are alike! We both have two girls and a boy and their personalities are VERY similar. We even got to meet the adorable newest addition to their family, Penelope. We had a great time. Gary cooked up some monster burgers for us and we just sat and talked for hours! What a great time! Thanks Gary and Heather. We will be doing that again soon!!!

Hope everyone enjoyed this little update. I got a little long winded and a little random with my thoughts, but that’s what keeps it fun! Enjoy some of the color photos from the photo shoot as I don’t have any new pictures on my phone right now. I am sure I will have some good ones from our Thanksgiving Feast in Georgia.

Black and White

It has been a very long last few weeks so I am going to keep this a little short as I am not really in the mood to make a big update. The last two to three weeks we have done nothing but fight off stomach bugs! Between the Trioux and us, it has been a long and difficult struggle!!! I think we have finally rounded the corner for now and everyone seems to be feeling better.

After their first birthday we really wanted to have some good professional pictures taken of the kids and the family so we could have them for years to come. Mind you, I think these kids could give the Kardashians a run for their money on how much they have been photographed since they were born! I could probably fill up many a hard drives with all the ones that have been taken, but there was always something missing in all of these pictures… THE ENTIRE FAMILY, both sets of grandparents and their only aunt. It was very important to me to have all that. One of my friends from college offered from day one to do the pictures and I do not regret it AT ALL!!! She was wonderful with the kids and did a great job. If anyone lives in this area, they really need to look her up.

Without further delay, here are some of the black and whites that she did. I will post the color ones in a few days. Enjoy!!

Quiet Weekend at Home

Not a whole lot to report about this weekend. My mom came into town to visit for the weekend and help us do some cleaning out around the house. As some of you parents of multiples out there, you can accumulate a MOUNTAIN of clothes, toys and other various stuff when you have more than one baby! We cycled out most of their summer gear and cleaned out their playroom. After a little work, we took the kids to Toy’s R Us and got them some more “stuff” to play with. I can tell already that this is going to get expensive REAL fast! Not because everything is expensive, but because it is sooooo much fun to by stuff for them. We got them one of those Little Tykes SwingAlongTM Castles for their playroom. I know, they are a little small for it, but I couldn’t resist!!! We had a gift card and coupons, so I figured what the hell! (Will have pictures to follow later)

After a long day of shopping, we settle back into the house to watch football and grill pizza on the Big Green Egg. The kids loved their pizza and so did we! Got to watch Alabama loose (YAY) and our Auburn Tigers win!

That’s about it for this weekend. Next weekend I am off to Atlanta for a guys weekend!!! Now I leave you with a few of the funniest pictures of the week!!!

"Like, come on Dad! You are so embarrassing!"

Lets only hope that this is the only ankle bracelet Jack will EVER wear!

Addi got so tired in Target this weekend she just laid back and fell asleep! She was exhausted!
Poor thing is passed out!

Toddlers

Ok, so it’s been a little while since I have posted anything, a month to be exact. That is not to say that I have not thought about what to say and how to get this thing going again. I think for now I will just stick to what they are up to now.

Since their birthday they have been learning and trying new things almost daily! We have since done away with the formula (THANK GOD!!!!) and moved them strictly to milk. That was actually a pretty easy transition. They got sick with a stomach bug the week before their birthday that had them puking up any formula that we put in them, so for three days they were strictly on juice, Gatorade and water. When it came time to introduce back the formula, we decided to make the switch cold turkey. They didn’t miss a beat! We did have to warm it up a little, just to knock the chill off because they had been used to room temperature formula, but it didn’t last long.

This past week we have also completely done away with the bottles!!! At first it was a BITCH, but now they are fine. We started with only giving them their sippy cups at school during the day for a few weeks to get them used to it. We would still give them one right before bed after they ate dinner and had their bath. These kids have always been the easiest to put to bed. We trained them very early by putting them to bed awake and letting them put themselves to sleep. They were so good at it that I was a little apprehensive to take away their bottle and disrupt their routine. Damn, was I right in that assumption!!! When we took their bedtime bottle away, all hell broke loose and you would have thought we were abusing these poor little ones! One night I swear Jack screamed in his bed for over an hour until he finally went to sleep. This has been the hardest week in a very long time, but after three or four days, they are pretty much back to normal! It still takes them a little longer to settle down, but that is understandable.

The biggest change so far has been the mobility. It is beginning to get a little crazy around here now. Kate was our first full blown walker. She started truly walking about three weeks ago and has not stopped since. Addi was second in the walking department a few weeks later. Poor little Addi walks like a little duck. It is so cute. We are hoping that she will straighten it up one day. As far as the little man goes, well that’s a whole different story. Poor little guy did not start actually crawling on his hands and knees until the week of their birthday! Up until then he army crawled everywhere! Over the last month or so he has gotten to where he will pull up on stuff and walk around it holding on, but won’t take a step with out holding on. Even if you stand him in front of you, all he wants to do is squat down. He is just scared to take a step. Well, this week we started putting his little Stride Rites on him and making him wear them all the time. Last night in the kitchen the little guy FINALLY took his first three steps (of course it was running to momma)! He was holding on to the corner of the cabinet and he just let go, yelled “momma” and walked to her! I didn’t believe it when I saw it so we tried it again and sure enough he did it again! Maybe the shoes were the push that he needed.

Well, that’s enough for now. Don’t want to bore you too much. Here are few pictures of our adventures of the last few weeks.

This is a preview of our professional pictures we had a few weeks ago. Will post more later!
